We endeavor to embrace Jesus’ announcement that God’s household is open to ALL and to proclaim Good News to the poor. This project follows Jesus outside Harvard UCC to develop new relationships based on the love of God, especially with poor sisters and brothers and their children.

Project Description:

A time of fellowship/Bible study will be provided for 6th-8th and 9th-12th graders during lunch once a week at Harvard Public Schools, supplementing lunch with food, beverage and dessert. Free breakfast will be provided for all youth, ages 3-18, every Sunday at Harvard UCC during this timeframe; alternating an authentic, healthy Mexican breakfast with a healthy breakfast of cereal, fruit, juice, milk, etc. A Spanish translator and Special Education (Sped) Teacher will be provided on Sunday mornings and for all activities included in this project as needed. All youth are welcome to stay for Sunday School from 9:00-9:40A.M. and for 10:00A.M. worship along with their parents/guardians and friends.

During the summer of 2020, three free outside meals for the entire community of 1,000 including at least one with authentic Mexican cuisine will be provided during the months of June, July and August along with games for the youth and prayer as requested. These will happen at the city pool adjacent to subsidized housing, “the courts” (poorest area of town) and finally near Harvard UCC with “Sing & Praise” contemporary worship with lots of Spanish and English music offered 40 minutes prior to the free meal.
