SUMMARY:Story Matters: From Trials Toward Joy
DESCRIPTION:In this day long exploration\, these dynamic workshop leaders invite you to chart the Story Arc found in Biblical texts and your own lives. Join Richard Bruxvoort Colligan in an examination of the Psalms and how they tell stories that chart the psalmists’ journey from complaint\, to hope\, to gratitude. Valerie Tutson will lead us through a process of re/membering our own stories\, and finding new connections with Biblical tales. The 11th Annual Festival of Psalms will follow the workshops on Oct. 2nd.\n\n\n\n\nThis event will be held on Zoom and in person at:\n\n\n\n\n475 East Lockwood Avenue Saint Louis\, Missouri 63119-3192\n\n\n\n\n\nProof of covid vaccination and masking will be required at the in-person event.\n\n\n\n\n\nRichard Bruxvoort Colligan desires adventurous and imaginative music for the church. As a full-time composer and musician\, he serves across denominations teaching about music and spiritual formation. Known for hymn forms\, simple chant and pop-rock arrangements\, he has several albums of original worship music. Richard is currently immersed in a long-term study of the Psalms. He is the owner of Worldmaking.net\, and his songs have been published by the ELCA\, UMC\, UCC and PCUSA. Valerie Tutson\, a life-long member of the UCC has been telling stories around the world since 1991. Her repertoire includes tales from around the world with an emphasis on African and African American traditions and history. DESCRIPTION:Joint Annual Meeting will be held on the afternoon of October 9th through the morning of October 11th\, 2022. The event will be hybrid\, offering ways to participate in person or online. The in-person form of the gathering will take place in Sioux City\, IA. The event will be centered around the theme “Loving Is Who We Are” and will include workshops\, a keynote speaker\, worship\, mission work\, lots of time for connection\, and of course the business meetings!
