The Workshop:
All people dream but many people do not know how to understand these messages. This workshop with the Des Moines Pastoral Counseling Center (DMPCC) is an opportunity to both learn about dreams from a Jungian perspective and to interact with your own dreams and the dreams of others. Dreams provide opportunities for us to find healing by exploring the images and symbols as a source of information given to us in liminal space. They are a convergence of the creativity of our minds, the energy of universal themes contained in archetypes, and the presence of luminous Spirit or God.
In this five-week workshop, you will learn some of the defining concepts of dream interpretation, the architecture Jung developed to understand the mind and spirit connection, the seven major types of dreams, tools to unpack your personal dreams, the practice of doing a dream group, leaning into a group dream, and the spiritual and religious nature of dreams.
This experience will be both didactic and interactive. Participants will be asked to bring and share dreams and to engage respectfully with the dreams of others. No dream is without merit. The foundational premise is that our dreams seek to help us heal, understand ourselves and the world, and connect us with the spiritual life.
Full participation in this workshop will provide participants with 1 CEU Credit (Continuing Education Unit Credit)
