There have been several financial scams in the Quad Cities area involving not for profits being asked to changed direct deposit info from “vendors and providers.” One of our churches in the area experienced (and successfully avoided!) a similar scam. This is a good reminder to be on the look out for phishing emails. Pay close attention to the email address if you receive a message with a request to handle something discretely, purchase gift cards, or unexpectedly change or share personal/sensitive/payment information.
