We Welcome the Rev. Dr. Lisa Sherman to the Nebrask Conference UCC. Rev. Dr. Sherman will be serving Northeast United Church of Christ in Lincoln, NE.
Meet Rev. Dr. Lisa Sherman
Lisa and Adam Sherman have been married for 24 years and when they first considered adoption, they were guided by a quiet belief that love, structure, and a home could heal almost anything. What we didn’t fully understand then—and what we now live every single day—is that love is only the beginning. It’s the foundation, yes, but not always the solution. Especially not when navigating a system that is overburdened, underfunded, and not built for individuals who need specialized care. Individuals that fall outside the “one size fits all” approach detailed in federal, state, community, and school policies. Their children navigate life with a wide range of disabilities. These can impact mental health, intellectual health, behavioral health, physical health, developmental health, and spiritual health.
